Fabio Keiner - Hiroshima Suite

The United States dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6th 1945. It was the first time a nuclear weapon had been used in warfare. The Enola Gay carried the weapon, nicknamed "Little Boy". It weighed nearly 10,000 pounds and could produce an explosive force equal to an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 tons of TNT. The casualties on the ground were staggering. An estimated 80,000 people were killed instantly. Another 80,000 died from effects of the bomb in the months and years following. Hiroshima was destroyed. Three days later, the U.S. dropped a second atomic bomb, on the city of Nagasaki. Lamentably, today new nuclear desasters seem posible given the war-drive and war-mongering between North Korea and USA - of which also Japan would suffer without any doubt.

'Hiroshima Suite' is a modest tribute to the memory of the victims of this nuclear bomb attack. The album itself has a long story of ambient improvisation, sound sampling and reworking - and an odyssey of almost 2 years before its releasing, on the day of the disaster, exactly 73 years later.
