The central region of Portugal, namely in the Beira Serra, where Luís Antero lives, is a rural area. It is marked by social and economic difficulties similar to many inland areas, but it also has a cultural, natural, environmental and a unique ethnography of its own. Most importantly, the region is very rich in intangible heritage sound and has an enormous acoustic potential, since it is crossed by the parks of Serra da Estrela and Serra do Açor. Many of these expressions, however, are now disappearing. When his two sons, were born, he felt, also because of them, that he had to start documenting this landscape.
